On 18 September, the winner of the Young Painter Prize 2026 was announced at Tallinn Art Hall. The prize was awarded to Latvian artist Andris Kaļiņins.
Among the awards is a solo exhibition at Artrovert Gallery in autumn 2027.
For more than 18 years, the Young Painter Prize has been discovering and supporting the next generation of painters in the Baltic region. As the oldest and one of the most recognised competitions for emerging painters in the Baltics, YPP brings together young artists from Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, and, since 2022, Ukraine.
More than a competition, YPP serves as a platform for visibility, professional development and international connections, helping artists bring their work beyond the studio and into the wider contemporary art world.
Each year, artists aged 18–33 submit their work to an international jury of artists, curators, collectors and art professionals. The selected finalists become part of a growing network of artists whose careers continue to develop long after the competition.
