Jamie Avis
Jamie Dean Avis (b. 1992 Brighton, UK) frames his practice in the traditions of figurative painting; also using video, drawing and sound to toy with the malleability of portraiture’s definitions. Recent concerns in his work include the concept of geological identity, Anthropocene theory, familial relationships and memory.
Jamie has exhibited internationally, most recently including a solo show in Tallinn, Estonia (2022) and at the Estonian Academy of Art (2022) and The Discerning Eye 2020, London (winning the North Region prize). He’s work can be found in private collections in London, Oslo and Tallinn.
