Heikki Leis
Heikki Leis (1973) is an Estonian artist and photographer whose work stands out for its remarkable versatility. His practice encompasses sculpture, detailed pencil drawings, and staged photographic projects. Leis combines realistic precision with poetic imagery, creating works that explore the boundaries between life and mortality, the human and the material.
He has published two photo books – Afterlife (2017) and Eesti meister (Master Estonian Craftsmen, 2018) – and received the Addo Vabbe Award in 2019. Leis’s works have been exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Estonia and internationally.
