Brenda Purtsak

Brenda Purtsak (1994) graduated with a Master’s degree in Contemporary Art in 2022 and a Bachelor’s degree in Painting in 2020, both from the Estonian Academy of Arts (EKA). Her work focuses on the human being and explores the boundaries between abstraction and reality. While painting is her primary medium of self-expression, this exhibition also features ceramics and charcoal drawings.

Brenda has participated in various exhibitions, including “Pretence” (2020) at the EKA Gallery; “A Visitor” (2022) at Hobusepea Gallery; “Urge” (2024) at the Monumental Gallery of Tartu Art House; and “Admission Not for Everybody” (2024) at Hobusepea Gallery. At the end of 2023, she held a large-scale solo exhibition titled “Birth” in the Project Room of the ARS Art Factory, as well as a four-year retrospective “Incision” at Haapsalu City Gallery (2024).

Purtsak has also exhibited internationally. Her paintings and stained glass works have been shown multiple times at the Estonian Embassy in The Hague.
