From 24 September, Artrovert Gallery will host the exhibition of experimental paintings by artist Pille Ernesaksa entitled “Eternal Sea”. The exhibition features a newly completed series of installation painting folders.
Ernesaks comments. I see the sea out of the corner of my eye every day and automatically register the different wave angles and colour shadows. The sea is always there – constant, yet ever-changing.
In the spring summer, I also experienced the closeness of the sea in Pizzo, in the south of Italy, where I spent six weeks directly by the sea, away from my family. I longed… The sea offered comfort, creating a kind of abstract water bridge with the beach and the family. I was also fascinated by this ‘strange sea’ – its different looks, colours and views. I was surprised that the traditional ‘game of ‘follow the trail’ continued, but this time my viewpoint was physically much more elevated. Read more on our exhibitions page.
