Britta Benno

Britta Benno (b. 1984) is a drawing and printmaking artist living in Tallinn. Her works play on the border between representational and abstract, in graphic lines and surfaces, sometimes coming to life in the language of animation.

She is interested in the fragility of humans and the environment through (conceptual) landscapes, admiring ruins, dreamlike productions and fantastic creatures. Her artworks has been exhibited throughout in Europe, also in Australia and Canada.

Britta Benno is the Director of the Tallinn Print Triennial. She serves as a lecturer at the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design at the Estonian Academy of Arts. In 2023, Benno completed her doctoral thesis, Thinking in Layers, in Worlding in Layers: Posthumanist Landscapes in the Expanded Field of Printmaking and Drawing.
